Care and Treatment at Martha's Vineyard Hospital

Martha’s Vineyard Hospital Infusion Services, in collaboration with the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, provides quality and compassionate care for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy.

MGH board-certified oncologists and hematologists travel to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital to see patients, consult, diagnose and identify treatment plans. Treatment is supervised by the MVH full-time on-site oncology nurse practitioner and administered by oncology certified nurses. The Martha’s Vineyard Hospital Infusion Services and oncology team also care for seasonal patients actively receiving treatment and will work closely with your off-island care team to ensure continuity of care while on island.

In addition, MVH provides treatments for patients referred by a specialist with acute and chronic illness including but not limited to infectious disease, gastrointestinal, rheumatological, and neurological disorders. While our goal is to provide local care and prevent patients from traveling off-island unnecessarily, we may determine the need for consultation or testing off-island to provide you with the most comprehensive care possible. At this time, radiation services are not available at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
